PURPOSE:To make it possible to enhance print preservability and thermally record an image of high quality with high density and excellent dot reproducibility by providing a precoated layer of resin cured by irradiation with an electron beam between a support and a thermally coloring layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermally recording medium consists of a thermally coloring layer and an electron beam-curable resin layer laminated sequentially on a support. A precoated layer of resin cured by irradiation with an electron beam is provided between the support and the thermally coloring layer. Subsequently, the electron beam-curable resin layer prevents the penetration of a heat-sensitive material into the support as a precoated layer. In addition, the precoated layer comes in contact with the extremely smooth surface of a metal roll or plastic film and the support while the precoated layer is still plastic, and then an extremely smooth precoated layer is provided on the support by peeling off the extremely smooth surface after irradiation with an electron beam. The procedures taken as described above are recommended for the improvement of dot reproducibility. |
