<p>Process for recovering waxes from sugar cane residues (cachaza) by contacting the dried material, without mechanical prepn. with a liq. extraction agent led in counterflow to the material being extracted, and recovering wax fractions with defined properties by stagewise cooling of the extract in a refining-type operation with successive pptn. and sepn. of the desired fractions, and returning part of the residue-laden extraction agent to the process. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is suitable for operation on an industrial scale and allows fractional recovery of waxes from sugar cane residues. The waxes are useful e.g. in the industrial prodn. of paper, inks, coatings, lacquers, pharmaceutical prods., cosmetics and fertilisers.</p> |
