The machine has a gantry 1 within which there is a frame 6 which can be displaced vertically with the collaboration of a motor 7, which frame is embodied with a quadrangular framework within which is housed, with freedom to rotate, a large ring 9 which coaxially surrounds the palletised load 5, this ring 9 accompanying the frame 6 in its vertical displacements but being able, in addition, to rotate on itself, activated by a motor 14. The ring 9 has, integral with it, a reel-carrier carriage 10 which supplies the plastic sheet for lateral baling of the pallet, in such a manner that it is said reel which rotates around the pallet 5 whilst the latter is kept static, the frame 6 also incorporating, immediately above the ring 9, a transversely displaceable carriage which carries the welding mechanism 25, cutting mechanism 27 and clamping mechanism 28 for the plastic sheet. <IMAGE>
