发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING METHOD FOR DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNAL
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce a bit error rate before error correction of reproduced output of a digital video signal to be recorded on a magnetic recording medium even if a data recording density is increased by specifying energy product of a magnetic layer of the medium and surface roughness of the medium. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic layer made of a metal magnetic thin film is formed on a nonmagnetic support, energy product of the product of the residual magnetic flux density, thickness and coercive force of the layer is set to 100G.cm.Oe or more, and the surface roughness of the medium is 0.003mum or less of mean roughness of a center line. Thus, even if the recording density of data is raised to about 1mum<2>/bit, a bit error rate before error correction of reproduced output of a digital video signal recorded on the medium can be reduced to 1 X 10<-4> or less.</p>
