An image recording method, where the image is transferred by superposing an exposed light-sensitive material and an image receiving material on the surface of a drum. Before superposing, in circumferential direction with respect to the axial direction of the drum reduced or magnified image is exposed onto the light-sensitive material. When a reduced image has been exposed, the exposed light-sensitive material will be positioned between the image receiving material and the surface of the drum. When a magnified image has been exposed, the image receiving material will be positioned between the exposed light-sensitive material and the surface of the drum. In this way an image without distortions will be transferred.
