PURPOSE:To prevent an abnormal up of the output at the time of copy restart without promoting the magnetization of a carrier and allow the immediate control of toner density after redrive by making the current sending to the coil of a toner sensor OFF during its stable waiting. CONSTITUTION:The control of toner density is conducted by judging the detection output of a toner sensor 24 consisting of a magnetic sensor having a coil disposed near a doctor blade 25 and a transmitter by a CPU 20, and driving a toner supplement roller 3 disposed on the upper part of a housing 2 if a toner supplement is required, and falling and supplying a determined quantity of a supplement toner 9 in a toner cassette 8 into the housing 2 to set the toner density of a developer 7 in a determined range. At this time, the current sending to the coil is stopped during the stable waiting of the toner sensor 24 to prevent the generation of an excess phenomenon in which a carrier is adhered to the sensor sensitive part to abnormally increase the detection output at the time of restarting the copy. |
