SERVICE MODULE

The module is designed for console, service and diagnostic functions in universal computers. It uses external storage devices with enhanced volume and reliability. The module is an open system in terms of switching other periphery units and it has improved diagnostic capabilities. The module includes a personal computer (2), connected to an address trunk line (5), a data trunk line (6) and a trunk-line for control signals (7). To the trunk line a buffer block (1) is connected, coupled with an external address bus (8), an external data bus (9) and a bus for control signals (10). To the buses (8, 9 and 10) a service adapter (3) is connected, which is also connected to a system trunk bus (11), a standard interface of an input-output channel (12), a temperature and supply voltages control bus (13), a supply control bus (14) and a processor service bus (15). The latter is connected to computer (4), which is also connected to the system trunk bus (11), the standard interface of the input-output channel (12), the temperature and supply voltage control bus (13) and the power supply control bus (14).
