The dental tool holder consists of a shaped tubular sleeve (1), a head (2) which holds the tool to be used and a system (4) for fixing the head into the sleeve so that it can be removed when necessary. A circular plug (17) fits into the other end of the sleeve (1) against a moulded shoulder (5). The drive system (15) for the tool passes through a hole in the plug (17) and connects to the tool itself. A locking nut (18) holds the plug, sleeve and tool head firmly together. The sleeve and plug can carry optical fibre illuminating systems (3) or other services needed at the tool head. ADVANTAGE - Low cost system allows simple repair and modification unlike existing one piece systems.
