<p>A shaftless open-end spinning rotor, designed as a rotor of an axial field motor, and a stator have plane, parallel bearing surfaces for a combined magnetic/gas bearing. Magnets which guide and drive the spinning rotor are incorporated in the bearing surface. The drive magnets possess high rigidity during guiding and are supported in a torsionproof manner even at the highest rotational speeds. To this end, the spinning rotor (1) is guided by thin, concentric, disk-shaped and annular permanent magnets (3, 4) each of alternating polarity which are disposed in the centre of the drive side (2), and driven by thin permanent magnets (9) arranged in pairs point-symmetrically and with alternating polarity. All magnets (3, 4, 9) are supported on the spin rotor (1) by a high-strength material.</p> |
