The endoscope uses optical fibres for illumination and viewing of the interior of cavities in the human body. It is equipped with appts for control and guidance comprising a main support (1) which holds a cylindrical sleeve (2) through which the optical fibres pass freely. A control head (3) is mounted on the sleeve (2) so that it slides axially and pivots radially as desired. It can be clamped in a suitable position by a locking screw (9). The optical fibres are held in a rigid tip (10) extending forward from the control head (3). The control head allows manipulation of the optical fibres within the observed cavity. ADVANTAGE - Effective control of relative positions of illuminating and viewing fibres at low cost.
