PURPOSE:To attain the maintenance of the device with transfer of a small quantity of updating information by reflecting the difference updating information onto a common information file through a common information file updating device against the information used in common among plural computers. CONSTITUTION:A common information file updating information collecting device 2 contains such mechanisms for input of the updating information, decision of information to be collected, production of the difference information, and output of a difference information file respectively and then produces the difference information for updating the common information on other computers when the a common information file is updated. Meanwhile a common information file updating device 3 contains the mechanisms for input of information, decision of the difference information, production of the updating information, and updating of the common information file respectively and reflects the common information onto the latest contents based on the updating information and the difference information. As a result, the total quantity of information to be transferred can be reduced and the number of media and the time required for transfer of information can also be reduced.
