PURPOSE:To obtain a fuel cell which can be easily handled by dividing a cell into plural portions, and arranging the plural cells on a plane, and alternately stacking the divided cells and separators to form a stack. CONSTITUTION:Divided cells 8 are arranged on a plane and separating plates 9 are mounted between the cells 8 and at the end portions of the cells. When supplied to an air manifold 6 H2 is allowed to pass through the cells 8 and enter an opposite manifold but does not enter an air gas manifold 7. Air supplied to the manifold 7 is allowed to pass through the channels of each separating plate 9 and the inside of the cells 8 and enter the opposite manifold 7 but does not enter the fuel gas manifold 6. The capacity of a fuel cell can thus be enlarged using the divided cells 8 of size equivalent to those of conventional ones and the cells are easily handled and the change of a cell manufacturing device is not needed. |
