PURPOSE:To prepare an easy-to-read document by setting a layout so that a group of character strings showing the meaning of a word (idiom), a phrase, etc., is not parted into two lines. CONSTITUTION:A Japanese document when inputted from an input device 2 is properly divided by a document dividing means 4. A character array means 5 arrays a character string, sandwiched between adjacent punctuations of the document divided by the document dividing means 4, on a free space on the same line in order. A character string length judging means 6 judges whether a character string to be arrayed next is too long to put in the free space up to the end of the line and when it is judged that the character string can not be put in the free space up to the end of the line, a line end processing means 7 performs a carriage return process. Therefore, the group of character strings such as idioms and phrases in the document is never parted into two successive lines. Consequently, the easy-to-read document is created. |
