PURPOSE:To deliver ink in a mist form by a method wherein a mechanism in use delivers ink by an electric field generated between an electrode disposed in the vicinity of an ink delivery part and another electrode, and a means for selectively heating ink in correspondence with recording image data is provided in the vicinity of the ink delivery part. CONSTITUTION:A back common electrode voltage control part 110 is driven under control by a CPU or the like to regulate a voltage from a back common electrode power source device 109 and control the voltages to be applied to an acceleration electric field applying electrode 107 and a back common electrode 111 and their polarities. A force of moving ink from an ink holding part opening end toward recording paper 108 is applied to the ink by an acceleration electric field generated by the voltage applied between the acceleration electric field applying electrode 107 and the back common electrode 111. The distance between the top of an ink holding part 204 and the back common electrode 111 is approximately 1mm. The recording paper 108 is disposed sufficiently proximately to the back common electrode 111. Thus, the ink is electrostatically atomized and made to flow by the electric field applied between the acceleration electric field applying electrode and the back common electrode. |
