Apparatus for preparing air intended for the ventilation of electronic equipment, which is capable of lowering the temperature and/or the humidity of air taken from the outside, characterised in that it consists of two refrigerating circuits (Fig. 1), one of which can function in refrigeration or dehumidification, its evaporator (4) and its condenser (6) being positioned frontally in the flow of air, it being possible for a second condenser (15) positioned in the outside atmosphere to replace the condenser (6) with the aid of means (17, 18, 19). The second refrigerating circuit comprises the evaporator (5), positioned frontally with the evaporator (4) and the condenser (6), and the condenser (15) which comprises two circuits. The flow of air passing through the dehumidification evaporator (4) is adjusted in order to obtain the optimum thermodynamic-circuit efficiency and the flap (16) bypasses the air which is useless for the functioning of the evaporators and condenser. <IMAGE>
