PURPOSE:To form a point ball lens high accurately further in good productivity in an optical fiber by forming a point end of the optical fiber worked into a cylindrical shape in the first process, forming this point end left as in the cylindrical shape and worked uniformly into a fine diameter in the second process, and heating the fine diameter worked point end melted in the third process. CONSTITUTION:In the first process, coating 101 in a point end of a multifiber tape optical fiber 100 is stripped to expose a point end of an optical fiber core wire 102 thereafter worked into a cylindrical shape. Next in the second process, a point end part 103 of the optical fiber core wire 102, left as formed into the cylindrical shape, is worked uniformly in a fine diameter. Finally in the third process, a finished product is obtained by heating the point end part 103 melted to form a point ball lens 104. In this way, the point ball lens can be worked high accurately further in good productivity in the optical fiber. |
