PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity in the longer wavelength region by using the reaction product of a specified azo pigment and one of specified tetracyanoquinodimethane compounds an electric charge transfer complex. CONSTITUTION:The charge transfer complex to be used is the reaction product of the one of the azo compounds represented by formula I and one of the tetracyanoquinodimethane compounds represented by formula II, and in these formulae I and II each of X and Y is represented by caption A, each of R1 and R2 is 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, cyano, nitro, amino, 1-4C alkylamine, 1-4C dialkylamine, OH, SO3, COOH, or halogen; a is an integer of 0-5; b is an integer of 0-7; R3 is halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkyloxy, or cyano; and c is an integer of 0-4, thus permitting the obtained organic photoconductor to be stable against heat and light and sufficiently sensitive to light in the longer wavelength region including the near infrared region. |
