1292028 Collapsible hose reels HAGO PRODUCTS Ltd 5 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 59351/68 Heading B8M A collapsible cable or hose reel comprises two resilient coaxial side flanges, a spacer 18 between the flanges coaxial therewith, and ties 22 between the flanges, the flanges and ties having respective hooked rod portions interengaged by flexing the flanges towards each other, the interengagement preventing full restoration of the flanges to their unflexed condition, the centre parts of the flanges being pressed on to the ends of the spacer and rigidly held together by the flexed condition of the flanges. Each flange comprises an outer ring 11 defining the outer periphery of the flange, four inwardly directed radial spokes 12 attached to the ring, and a central socket attached to the set of spokes. The spacer 18 is preferably a tubular member and the outer rings and radial spokes are preferably steel rods which are welded together. The hooked rod portions on the flanges are parallel rods having outwardly hooked ends and being attached to pairs of adjacent spokes. The ties 22 comprise two rectangular frames which fit over opposite pairs of the hooked rods to maintain the reel in its erected position. The socket may comprise a length of tube 15 secured to a flange 16 at one end and closed at the other end by a washer 17, the diameter of the tube 15 being such as to accommodate the spacer member 18. The socket may alternatively be in the form of a pressing. |
