The invention relates to an assembly of a stopper and a necked container, comprising complementary pawl-type engagement means, characterised in that the neck has two successive pawl-type engagement means having between them an annular groove carrying several recessed reliefs (20), there being an odd number or a multiple of an odd number of them, each having at least on one same left or right side a lateral support edge (21, 22) having the same inclination with respect to the axis of the neck, the interior of the said stopper having reliefs (13) which engage in a pawl-like manner in the said groove and after possible rotation of the said stopper cooperating simultaneously with the said support edges (21, 22) of the reliefs (20) of the said groove whilst causing a downward translation of the said stopper and its final pawl-type engagement. The invention applies to any stopper fixed in a tamper-evident manner to the neck of a container, in particular to stub (stump) caps or "service caps". <IMAGE>
