PURPOSE: To automatically stop laser irradiation when a laser cannot be matched with a target by providing object tracking means to track motion of a nonstationary object, inspection means to form electronic expression of an optical image to generate an optical image of the nonstationary object and display means to convert the electronic expression. CONSTITUTION: A main computer 62 transmits an ignition signal on a system bus 64 to an illumination/shutter controller 1. The controller 1 transmits an ignition signal on a line 168 to a laser 170. Even in any case in laser treatment, since a tracking sub-system can pursue motion of eyes, a postprocessing part 152 transmits a tracking error signal on the system bus 64. The illumination/ shutter controller 1 reacts to an error signal by directly transmitting a cutoff signal on the line 168 to the laser 170. Transmission of laser energy is not resumed until a doctor once again confirms a treatment plan displayed on a screen. Therefore, an unexpected injury of eyes of a patient which is possibly caused when laser irradiation is started in a condition where a laser beam is not matched with a target, can be prevented. |
