Process for the preparation of products having general formula (I) by stereoselective reduction of an hydroxyketone having the general formula (II) with the aid of borohydride or sodium or potassium cyanoborohydride associated with a titanium derivative. In formulae (I and II), z is an alkoxy, alkylthio, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino radical, R is: either a R1-Y-(-Y-=-CH2CH2-,-CH=CH-,-C=C-radical and R1 is an optionally substituted aliphatic alicyclic, aromatic or heteroaromatic radical) or a radical (a) (R2=halogen, alkoxy, alkylthio, arylthio, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino and R3=hydrogen or R2).
