Method and apparatus for dispensing medicinal products, making it possible automatically to prepare a patient's order, including one or more prescriptions. The various medicinal products are stored in three or more filling lines (12,14,16). One bottle (18) size is allocated to each line. In order to complete a presciption, it is automatically allocated to a line as a function of the size of bottle required and is processed as a consequence. Measures are taken in the event of it being impossible to supply a prescription or an order. All the prescriptions of one patient are then grouped together and made available in the form of one order for a single patient.
