The invention relates to deferred-action electrochemical batteries of the type termed "with reserve". It more particularly relates to means for storing a liquid electrolyte. The electrochemical battery according to the invention includes at least one electrochemical cell (C1 to Cn) and a dose of electrolyte assigned to this cell. According to one characteristic of the invention, the dose of electrolyte is fractionated into a plurality of separate elementary volumes, each contained in a microcapsule (MC). This makes it possible, on the one hand, before triggering of the battery, to store the microcapsules (MC) directly in the cell (C1 to Cn) to which the dose is assigned, then, with triggering, to release the electrolyte by crushing the microcapsules. This results in a significant simplification of the manufacture of the batteries, because the microcapsules (MC) can be used in a large number of cells having different geometries. <IMAGE> |
