The device is used for exerting downward pressure on a machine with a milling tool (4). It has one or more rollers (8) working against the wooden workpiece (6) and against the spindle on a sliding carriage. The roller (8) is held by a vertical holder (7) which is secured to an overhead prismatic carriage (10) by a clamp (12). A movable stop (18) is synchronised with the horizontal movement of the spindle (2), and the extending piece (15) of the overhead carriage (10) has a roller (15a) which comes into contact with the stop surface (19) and prevents the roller (8) from colliding with the spindle (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - The roller and carriage can be adjusted to suit the tool being used on the spindle.
