The armour protection system comprises one or more plates (4) on or in the door (1) or bodywork, and which are extensible to one or more sides. They can be operated pneumatically, hydraulically, or by gas pressure. - A valve can be provided for testing the operating system and refilling when required. The door containing the plates can be detachable from the vehicle by means of an unlocking mechanism, for use as a shield.
