<p>Described is a method of preparing a mullite composition comprising the steps of forming an aqueous silica containing composition having an acidic pH, forming an aqueous aluminum oxide precursor solution, forming a homogeneous mixture of the silica composition and the aluminum oxide composition, solidifying a mullite precursor composition from the homogeneous solution, sintering the solidified mullite precursor, and recovering the formed mullite composition.</p> |
