The drive mechanism has a first drive pice (14) with continuous toothed belt (20) a drive-wheel (18) and at least one driven wheel (22, 24). At least one second drive-piece (16) has a second continuous flat belt (30) positioned on the same drive-plane and driven directly or indirectly by the first drive-piece (14). The second belt (30) is tightened by a driven wheel (32) against the pulling stringer of the first belt (20), the two pulley belts (20, 30) and two adjacent wheels (18, 32) of the two drive pices (14, 16) each have the same looping angle of especially 50 deg. or more. USE/ADVANTAGE - The drive mechanism is axially compact and has at least two pulley-drives on a uniform plane.
