The ski binding has a toe and heel unit each mounted in a slide carriage fixed on the ski body and each connected rigidly to the other by a connecting member (5). The binding element which comprises the toe unit, connecting member and heel unit is mounted resilient in the longitudinal direction and is guided for longitudinal displacement in the slide carriages (1,2). ADVANTAGE - The forces which occur through shocks against bumps in the snow or ground are delayed or reduced through the resilient bearing so that smoother skiing results.
