The pressure pulse source (4) and a HV pulse generator (8) of a pressure pulse generator are enclosed in a housing (1), i.e. with at least the output stage of the HV pulse generator, to form a module. Pref. the output stage contains a HV capacitor, as the moudle component in the housing. Typically, the HV pulse generator contains a HV swtich (6), also as the module component. The housing may contain an inner housing part (10) with a chamber contg. an insulating liq. in which at least the HV pulse generator output stage and/or the HV switch are located. The housing contains an acoustic propagation medium for the pressure pulses from the pressure source. USE/ADVANTAGE - For lithotriptors etc., with low losses of HV pulses and reduced pulse deformations.
