The folding bellows plate (9) has its longitudinal edge areas (12,13) covering the metal plates (3a,3b) adjacent to the expansion joint (5), and in this covering area longitudinally running sealed welding seams (14,15) are applied. The height of the folds of the bellows plate is equal to or shorter than the thickness of the metal plates. The bellows plate is covered by a longitudinally running cover plate (7) which has a U-profile shape. With its U-arms downwards, the cover plate is spot-welded to the corresp. metal plate (3a). On one side of the expansion joint, a flat iron bar (10) with tapped holes, as distance holder, is spot-welded to a metal plate (3a). USE - To seal expansion joints between metal plates in building structures.
