A coating is disclosed based on polyesters and isocyanates, which is characterized by containing as a binder a mixture of (a) 30 to 94 wt% of at least a polyester resin containing hydroxyl groups, having a hydroxyl number from 40 to 140 mgKOH/g and an oil content from 25 to 57%; (b) 3 to 15 wt% of at least a branched polyester containing hydroxyl groups based on cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic di- and/or polycarboxylic acids with a hydroxyl number from 100 to 200 mgKO/g and a trifunctional and/or higher alcohol and/or carboxylic acid content of at least 15 moles %, referred to the alcohol and carboxylic acid total content; and (c) 3 to 15 wt % of at least one polyester modified by synthetic fatty acids having a hydroxyl number from 80 to 150 KOH/g and a synthetic fatty acid contect from 35 to 50 wt%, referred to the weight of the modified polyester. The sum of the parts by weight of components (a) to (c) equals 100 wt %.
