The cylindrical container (2) which is filled with a liquid, includes a flanged end plate (3) that seals the contaienr. When the shaft of a barrel pump is inserted into the container end plate, a circular break line (7) along the end plate flange (5) fails. A central break line (10) in the end plate also allows the shaft to enter the container so that the separated end plate section follows the liquid level during discharge of the container.
