A facility for treating leather, pelts, furs and the like has a running path for the leather and at least one conveyor belt (TB) that extends along this running path, at least one drying station (TRS2), in particular a vaccum dryer, being arranged along the running path. In order to design facilities of said type that require less space with a running path having a predetermined length, but in which the design of the running path or the arrangement of the working stations do not disturb the passage of the leathers, at least one continuous auxiliary belt (HB) that is at least in some sections permeable to gas and/or higly thermoconductive cooperates with the conveyor belt (TB), whereas the leather in the area of the drying station (TRS2) is guided at least in part between the conveyor belt (TB) and the auxiliary belt (HB).
