<p>The personal equipment for use during operations in noxious surroundings includes a suit made of flexible body portion (10) and a helmet (12) provided with a transparent visor and having its own supply of respiratory gas from a gas supply. The helmet is separated from the suit by a neck seal (16). The gas supply (24) is connected to a breathing circuit which leads to the helmet via a control device (48) provided for maintaining higher pressure in the helmet than in the body portion. The equipment further comprises a face mask (52) with an inlet valve for gas from the helmet and an outlet conduit for discharging exhaled air directly to the surroundings via a calibrated non-return device.</p> |
