The invention provides a device for restricting the contents of a lidded cooking container from boiling over, and also a container having such a device integral therewith. Fluids "boiling-over" from a pot create mess, and can be dangerous. Accordingly the invention provides a device (5) for attachment to a container (25) comprising a first tubular portion (10) dimensioned to closely locate on a vertical surface of the container (25), in use, and a second peripheral portion (15), an edge(s) of the first portion (10) being connected to an edge(s) of the second portion (15). In use, the lid (30) of the container (25) is located on the device (5), such that the second portion (15) reduces or prevents spillage from the container (25). Preferably, the second portion (15) is directed inwardly of the first portion (10) and also inclined upwardly, in use. |
