In a water-cooled condenser, the condenser tubes made from titanium are rolled and/or welded at their ends into a respective tube plate. The tube plates made from titanium are bolted to the condenser jacket and the water box jacket by means of flanges. The condenser jacket made from steel sheet is provided at the point of connection to the tube plates with titanium locking plating (8) which is welded in a water-tight fashion to the tube plates on the steam chamber side. The locking plating is applied to the part of the flange (1') on the steam chamber side.
