PURPOSE:To provide flexibility in the stop position holding force of a mover by providing means for enabling selection of various exciting currents of a step motor. CONSTITUTION:An operation processing circuit 5 is previously stored with a series of moving position coordinates through a teaching unit 8, and a predetermined number of driving pulses are fed sequentially to a motor exciting current control circuit 6 based on a step instruction. The motor exciting current control circuit 6 generates a predetermined exciting pattern and controls the exciting current of a step motor 9 so that driving force having sufficient margin is obtained in order to avoid step out. Driving force produced from the step motor 9 is transmitted through an appropriate transmitting means so that a mover 11 can perform linear movement. On the other hand, the teaching unit 8 positions the mover 11 at a predetermined stored position while taking into account a feedback signal fed from a position detector 10 to the operation processing circuit 5. |
