The missile has a tubular body with detachable propulsion plug. A connecting body is inserted in the body and the plug, being detachable from both by relative movement in the axial direction. On firing, propulsion gases pass through an opening in the plug and strike the connecting component, detaching and ejecting this from the body. Coupling can be by shear pins or a snap-connector. ADVANTAGE - Detaches body from plug while still in gun barrel.
