Heat-shrink sheet, for the prodn. of sleeves, tubes, etc. round articles (and round cable joints and branches in particular) has a cover layer and a heat-shrink lining with also heat-shrink threads running the direction of shrinkage of the liner, the threads being polymer material in particular. The shrinkage liner embodies glass filaments or fibres treated with silane to provide a good bond between the cover and liner. The cover layer is preferably mixed polyethylene and ethylenevinyl acetate polymer or two different polyethylenes. The figure shows an example with a cover layer (2) and shrinking liner (3) which incorporates heat-shrink filaments (4). These (4) are partic. polymer material and run along the direction of shrinkage of the layer (3). ADVANTAGE - The prod. has excellent adhesion between its cover layer and heat-shrink liner, even without crosslinking cover or combination.
