MECHANICAL-HYDRAULIC TYPE TRANSMISSION

A mechanical-hydraulic type transmission for crawler type vehicles which has a small size in the width direction orthogonal to input/output shaft and enables a combination with an existent crawler steering device to be selected arbitrarily. In the transmission, three parts divided longitudinally, i.e., a power input shaft (1) being directly in connection with a prime mover, an intermediate shaft (9) and an output shaft (19) are aligned. Planetary gears (5, 6) for forward and reverse rotation, having clutches (7, 8) on their peripheries respectively, are mounted on the power input shaft (1) connected to a variable capacity hydraulic pump (2). A plurality of planetary gear trains (11, 12), having clutch means (10, 13, 14) on their peripheries respectively, and a planetary differential gear (15) are mounted on the intermediate shaft (9). The output side of a variable capacity hydraulic motor unit (20) driven by the hydraulic pump (2), and the output shaft (19) are together in connection with the planetary differential gear (15).
