N-Benzoyl-N'-(2-phenylethyl)piperazines of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are as defined in the description, and salts thereof, have analgesic properties and can be used as analgesic pharmaceutical active substances. They are prepared, for example, by reacting a compound of the formula II <IMAGE> in which X1 denotes carboxyl or reactive functionally modified carboxyl, or a salt thereof, with a compound of the formula III <IMAGE> in which X2 denotes hydrogen. |
