A demister for separating entrained liquid from a gas flow comprises a plurality of modules 15,16,17 arranged in series. Modules 15 and 17 comprise a plurality of hollow vanes each having an opening on the major face thereof for receiving liquid into the interior of the vanes. The module 16 comprises solid blade-like vanes. The characteristics of the device may be varied by inserting or removing modules at will in light of flow conditions encountered in use. <IMAGE>
