A circuit assembly robot has one component grasping mechanism, whereby it is possible to reduce manufacturing costs and increase the ease of manufacture in comparison with the prior art. The component grasping mechanism is pivotable in a vertical plane, whereby it is possible to decrease operation time. The robot comprises a base 2, frame 3 mounted on guide rods 13, manipulator 6 comprising grasping device 5 pivotable in a vertical phase between component supply 4a and the component installation position. The robot further comprises lead securing device 8 located in a fixed position to bend over the projecting component leads after the component is inserted into a printed circuit board C. <IMAGE> |
