PURPOSE:To obtain a diaphragm valve of a long life by heating a rubber compound, formed by mixing a peroxide into a composition composed of the specific rate of fluoro-rubber and EPDM or EPM rubber, in a die to mold a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:A rubber compound, formed by mixing a peroxide into a composition containing 25-95wt.% of fluoro-rubber and 5-75wt.% of EPDM or EPM rubber as the rubber part, is heated in a die to mold a diaphragm 1 integrally by the vulcanizing reaction caused by the peroxide. The corrosion resistance of the thus obtained diaphragm 1 is not much changed from the case of using only fluoro-rubber, and the corrosion resistance is increased slightly as the content of fluoro-rubber is increased, whereas sealing performance is increased as the content of EPDM or EPM is increased. The diaphragm 1 is thus provided with the corrosion resistance of fluoro-rubber and the sealing characteristic of EPDM or EPM so as to have the advantage of a long life, and distortion is not generated during use since the peroxide can be decomposed completely. |
