PURPOSE:To conduct high-quality printing and reduce a burden to control equipments by a method wherein an electric current central value set by a setting means is corrected by a correction value in accordance with a difference between a detected rotating speed and an object speed, and a drive motor is rotated at the object speed. CONSTITUTION:In a carriage driver, a speed detection means M3 detects the rotating speed of a drive motor M2 for driving a carriage M1 provided with a printing head of a serial printer. An estimation means M4 estimates a load to be connected to the drive motor M2. A setting means M5 sets an electric current central value corresponding to a predetermined object speed in accordance with the estimated load. After that, a drive control means M6 corrects the set electric current central value by a correction value in accordance with a difference between the detected rotating speed and the object speed and makes the drive motor M2 rotated at the object speed. |
