PURPOSE:To provide the captioned printer which does not have any disturbance in dot arrangement when one character is formed, by arranging so that a platen with dot-shaped protrusions spirally set on the external periphery may intermitently move at a prearranged pitch together with a printing head. CONSTITUTION:A platen 12 is fitted and supported on a platen axis 13 in such a condition that the platen is opposed to the impact face 6 of a printing lever 4. In addition, on the external periphery of the platen 12, dot-shaping protrusions 14a, 14b,...14f are spirally arranged (at a fixed pitch in a rotary direction and at a pitch between dots d1 in an axial direction). A carrier 16 which holds the platen 12 is intermittently driven for scanning by means of a stepping motor at a fixed pitch d2 in the same direction as a carriage 1 through ropes 21, 20 respectively. At that time, a character or a picture is formed in dot matrix. |
