Feeder with power gum secured weight

An angling feeder has a shell 1 open at one end and made of transparent plastics material. The shell 1 defines a cylindrical bait cavity 2 and is perforated by openings 3. Axial end 4 of shell 1 has a small through-bore. A tungsten-based ballast sphere 5 also has a through-bore. This passes diametrically through sphere 5 and receives a length of power gum 6 knotted to deny complete passage of the power gum through the through-bore. The remote end of the power gum 6 passes through bait cavity 2 and penetrates the axial end 4 of shell 1 where it is similarly knotted for securement purposes. An eye 7 is attached to the power gum 6 and receives fishing line 8 which connects a rod to hook 9. The sphere 5 can be removed manually from its seat in the axial opening of the shell 1 against the bias of the power gum. In this condition, the bait can be charged to the bait cavity 2 following which the sphere 5 can be returned to its seated condition in the otherwise open end of shell 1.
