Tyre tread pattern suitable for pre-vulcanisation in a flat position which features profiles running in zig-zag patterns in the longitudinal direction, the patterns being formed by truncated triangular blocks which generally increase in magnitude and spacing from the centre of the tread to the border zones. Removal of the crest and trough points of the (triangular) profiles of the zig-zag lines provides space for absorption of (a) linear elongations which occur in the middle zone, and (b) compressions which occur in the border zone of the tread during flat vulcanisation of the varying depth tread. The profile waves are longitudinally assymetric to avoid rhythmic vibration generation. The disclosed structure is simpler and offers greater adaptability during pre-vulcanisation than the provision of special grooves and folds or recesses of the underside of the tread (prior art).
|
