<p>Cmpds. (I) R' = H or Me R2 = Ph or pyridyl, substd. by 1 or 2 NO2 and opt. substd. by 1 or 2 lower alkyl One R = NO2 and the second R = H Anti-trichomonads, esp. active vs. Trichomonas vaginalis, T.fetus, Entamoeba histolytica, Trypanosoma congolense, T. equinum, T.equiperdum, and T. evansi. Dose 1-500 mg. p-Nitrochlorobenzene (15.7 g.) was added to 2-methyl-4(5)-nitroimidazole (15 g.) in PrOH (100 ml.), heated 30 min. at 150 deg. (sealed tube), cooled, dild. with H2O, filtered, and recryst. from Me2CO, giving I (18.5 g.), m.p. 185-7 deg.</p> |
