摘要 PURPOSE:To stabilize erasing characteristics and to improve jittering without the effect of the distance between recording signal marks by resetting the emitted power of laser light for erasing in overwrite for every recording signal mark, and gradually increasing the power after the start from the specified low level. CONSTITUTION:When overwrite is performed, erasing power after the emitting of writing power is not set at a constant value as in the conventional method. The emission of th power is started from a specified low level, and the power is gradually increased to a certain value. Therefore, remaining heat which is generated at a part to be erased immediately after the recording of a recording signal mark is cooled. The erasing power is gradually increased to a certain level. Therefore, even if the distance between marks until the next writing power is emitted is long, the temperature of a thin film between th recording marks is kept at the approximately constant value required for raising regardless of the distance between the recording marks. In this way, the stable erasing is possible without the effect of the distance between the recording signal marks, and the erasing where jittering and the like are hard to occur can be performed.
